After School Activities

Drama workshop.

Program presenter Gavin Vance leads a play building activity.

Our After School Activities and School Holiday Workshops for Kids in Sydney’s Inner West are aimed at building confidence, creativity and co-operation. The programs are fun, fast-paced and highly participatory which means students learn by doing. We work alongside both school and OOSH programming to add value to after school care. The programs are tried and true and our presenters come to you fully equipped and qualified. Sessions typically run for 90 minutes but can be tailor made to any time requirements, and come in 3, 5, or 10 session blocks.

Play Building 1 – A great fun introduction to brainstorming, devising and performing for Year 3-6 students, culminating with an informal performance to family and friends

Play Building 2 – A more advanced course covering actor’s games and exercises for Year 3-6 students, culminating with a more formal performance for school, community or a festival.

Theatre Games – A Crash Course in Competition Impro for Years 3-6 and 7-10.

Hero’s Journey An Epic Storytelling Adventure for K-6 students.

Due to extra demand, we are now taking registrations for another afternoon of fun Creative Arts Activities at Newtown Public School. Starting Week 1 of Term 1, 2014, Playbuilding 1 “Heroes and Villains” is a fantastic introduction to drama games, story telling and impro exercises for K-2 students.

Testimonials

“The Five-Day Play was the best fun Liesl has had in the school holidays for a long time! She thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the build up to performance on the final day (which the parents enjoyed as much as the kids). It really was wonderful to see them in action.” Liesl’s Mum - Lynda Jupp, October 2013

'The larger Kids Theatre providers don't produce programs as fun as these, or performances as good as these! Red Roar is is REAL value for money!' Maddie's Mum, Kerrie Cant, February 2014

"Thank you again for giving the kids the space to play, learn and grow. We can't wait for the next one!" Georgia Bartley, April 2014
