This week at Red Roar it’s all been about THE HERO’S JOURNEY … From Manly to Kingswood,

invinciblefrom Haberfield to Bangor, young people have been donning capes and eye masks, casting spells and going into epic battle as the forces of good and evil have clashed! The Hero’s Journey Workshops teach kids the basics of brainstorming and devising, and after just 90 minutes in workshop, the whole group is on their feet performing their own play! This week we’ve noticed that when we go into centres, our young people are spread right across it in very small groups or even by themselves in corners with small screen devices. They welcome with open arms the opportunity to join together, and soon we’re feeling the power of the unified group. By the end of it all, we have 12 and 11 year olds happily taking time to guide 5 & 6 year olds, and everyone in between is swept up in the drama. We can’t quite believe our luck in having work that’s this much fun!

Testimonials

“The Five-Day Play was the best fun Liesl has had in the school holidays for a long time! She thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the build up to performance on the final day (which the parents enjoyed as much as the kids). It really was wonderful to see them in action.” Liesl’s Mum - Lynda Jupp, October 2013

'The larger Kids Theatre providers don't produce programs as fun as these, or performances as good as these! Red Roar is is REAL value for money!' Maddie's Mum, Kerrie Cant, February 2014

"Thank you again for giving the kids the space to play, learn and grow. We can't wait for the next one!" Georgia Bartley, April 2014
